Tahmi

Back to Artwork

Jewelry designer, Tahmi DeSchepper worked for years as a fiber artist. Her shift from textiles to precious metals occurred, as she describes, in a great "Ah-ha! moment" when she realized that everything that she was designing with fiber could be done with wire. Her designs tend to be inspired by wildly varied, cross-cultural fascinations- incorporating the Edo Yatsu traditional weaving of the Japanese or the latest stitch with which she may be experimenting in knitting. The delightful result of Tahmi's eclecticism is a style of jewelry that can dress up a pair of jeans or complement a formal.

The artist lives and works in Fairfield, Iowa. She shows her work throughout the region. Recently she was awarded "Outstanding Artist" in her medium at the Des Moines Arts Festival.
