Cedar Rapids painter, Julie Kottal, approaches the landscape with a contemplative sensibility. While preserving those elements of the landscape that are timeless, Kottal has lately been intrigued by the intersection that she finds between landscape and still-life imagery. In combining the two, the artist feels`she has created an organic equilibrium in this latest body of work.Julie is originally from Michigan. She earned an Associate of Arts Degree and received her B.A. from Coe College where she studied with painter, Peter Thompson. Her work is in collections throughout the region.
